Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang is a giant ski area in Austrian Salzburgerland between the small towns of the same names. In the season 2015/16 it was enlarged of the ski area of Fieberbrunn in Tirol.

SKIING WITH CHILDREN Ski schools, kindergartens, playgrounds, fun parks as well as measured and racing trails you will find in many parts of this ski resort. An average blue (easy) slope in Saalbach would be marked in Italy as a red (middle) slope. For skiing with children and totally beginners offers the Skicirkus enough of appropriate slopes, chairlifts and lifts. Suitable slopes for learning you will find direct in the centre of Saalbach, on the top of Bernkogel or Asitz, near Hinterglemm, the Familienabfahrt from Zwölferkogel or in the villages of Leogang and Fieberbrunn.

Ski Area

Altitude: 841 – 2096 m (2760 – 6786 ft). Slopes: 270 km / 168 miles (95 % with snowmaking), 52 % blue, 41 % red, 7 % black. Lift facilities: 70 gondolas, chairlifts and lifts. Chip cards: yes. Skipass caution: yes.

SKITOUR Skitours are marked in the ski map. The length and difficulty of the skitour you will easy adjust to your skills and time options. There are all kind of slopes to try – blue, red, black even freeride slopes.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING In the valley you will find 55 km (34 miles) of prepared cross country slopes.

THE MOST CHALLENGING SLOPES Zwölferkogel – try the WM Strecke with the parameters for a World Cup or a “more black than just a black” slope on the Northern part of Zwölferkogel.

FREERIDE Skicirkus Saalbach with a lot of snow is an ideal area for freeriders.

FUN Snowparks, measured and racing trails mostly equipped with a camera. Wi-fi by the main lifts for posting your photographs directly on Facebook or Instagram. Flyfox near Leogang – on a rope you will ride in the valley with a speed you can’t get among other skiers by downhill. Paragliding Chalets, restaurants, pubs, bars and après ski offer local specialities on the slopes as well as after the whole day skiing. Just remember the time of departure of the last lift between the ski resorts. If you ski in Fieberbrunn, your hotel is Saalbachu and you will stay in another valley after closing of the interfacing lift, there is no way then to take a cab to get back. Saalbach – Leogang = 30 km (17 miles), Saalbach – Fieberbrunn = 50 km (31 miles)!

SKIBUS Free of charge for skipass holders. There are several shuttle bus lines along the valley, a skibus Zell am See – Maishofen – Saalbach – Hinterglemm and back and a skibus Leogang – Fieberbrunn.

Baumzipfelweg – a tree top trail and the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps. In the end of the valley „Talschluss“ by Lindlingalm there is a footbridge across the valley which continues with a tree top trail (fee charged, accessible also in the winter season), The Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps you can reach either by walking, cross-country skiing or taking a horse-drawn sleigh in winter or a small train in summer).
